LOCATION: The Hotel Rigihof Zurich is located in the very center of the University area. Just a walking distance to the University, hospital and to the main train station (Bahnhofstrasse). The hotel is direct connection to the exhibition center.
Hotel Rigihof Zurich is a four star hotel in the University area. There is a direct streetcar (no.10) that stop at "Winkelriedstrasse". All the rooms at Hotel Rigihof are completely renovated and individually designed. They are well equipped for both leisure and business travallers. ACCOMMODATION: Each of the renovated rooms is dedicated to a celebrity who lived in Zurich and who, during this time, did or invented something valuable, unforgettable or typical which touched a wide circle of people.
The life and work of these people are depicted on pictures that fill up entire walls. Each wall painting is explained in a small text in three languages. Further information may be found in the literature provided in the room on the person to whom the room is dedicated. |
HOTEL FACILITIES & SERVICES: The Rigihof Hotel was built in the Bauhaus style in 1931 and is regarded as a prime example of the architecture of the time. Bauhaus marked the start of modern-age architecture in the 20s. Its characteristic features are a functional design, clear, distinct lines, pronounced colours and light rooms. Bauhaus architecture embodies openness and clarity as its basic stylistic principles.
The architectural style of the building forms the theme of the restaurant. The restaurant interior takes up the Bauhaus theme in a vivid manner. A highly varied selection of light, seasonal dishes and Zurich specialities is accompanied by selected wines from our wine cellar. |
