LOCATION: This beautiful hotel is located at the end of a small street in the heart of Petion-ville, a suburb of Port-au-Prince. The unassuming entrance leads you to a gracious open air lobby. As you look around everything is meticulously landscaped and maintained.
The rooms, which are spread out over this sprawling complex, are beautifully furnished and have balconies overlooking gardens.
Being a "plant fanatic," I am always so impressed with the beauty of the gardens at the Villa Creole. They have managed to tame the natural vegetation to create gardens that are neat and attractive without looking too formal. Walking around the grounds is always a treat.
ACCOMMODATION: Standard Room although fully equipped with the basic amenities, a/C ,Satellite Tv,
Internet Access,These Are Our Smaller Rooms usually Situated At Ground Level. Superior Rooms are located above ground level, generally have balconies and are some what larger than Standard Rooms. Deluxe Rooms all have balconies and garden views. The rooms are generally larger than Superior Rooms, with dedicated work space, and redecorated within the past two years. The usual room configuration is two full size beds,or King Size Bed. Some of these
rooms can be configured as connecting rooms, if required. Junior Suite extra large rooms, with either two balconies or a separate sitting room. Ample workspace is provided for business travelers. Several of these rooms have two Tv, and Three phone outlets, including a bathroom phone. Refrigerators are standard. Ambassador Suite-Two Suite we feel are
extra special. Larger than Junior Suites, with balconies, sitting area and a variety of phone locations for Internet Hook-Ups.These rooms have Tv in the sleeping and sitting areas, and refrigerators. Most of the room furnishings were made in Haiti, by Haitis best woodworkers and ironworkers.
RESTAURANT & BAR: Our afternoon meetings are usually held at this wonderful bar. There are several little alcoves that allow us to relax and refresh ourselves while we hash over our daily finds.
Rum punches, Prestige beer and the Haitian sunset are a perfect lead-in to dinner.
Lunch and dinner are served in the dining area off the lobby, overlooking the pool. While we often sample the local restaurants, we have many of our meals right here.
Breakfasts are cooked outdoors on a series of outdoor grills (seen in the background), and served under this enormous almond tree.
Every morning the staff carts the dishes, pots, food, and linens up to the pool from the kitchen...a distance of about a city block. When the last meal is served it all has to go back down to the kitchen to be washed and put away until tomorrow.
