Sea and Sport
SCUBA DIVING in the waters around St Helena is an adventure! With water temperatures on average around 23°C year-round, there is a diverse abundance of marine life ranging from dolphins, whales and even manta rays to prolific reef fish suchas butterfly, wrasses, parrot, damsel, trumpet, scorpion, boxfish, jacks, puffers and moray eels.

Below the surface, the base of the volcanic cliffs form a rocky, craggy natural habitat which slopes to 20 meters plus. Visibility is often commented on with a common average of 20 meters plus and bottom temperatures between 20 - 26°C.

Popular dives include: wreck dives, marine- friendly small caves and shore or boat-based dives. All dives arranged through the St Helena Diving Club

Sport fishing:
SPORT FISHING
in the waters around St Helena is an adventure! A fisherman's paradise whether for a quiet day on the rocky coast line or if you are seeking the thrill of deep water sport fishing. On a typical day, sport fishing enthusiasts can join a local boat for a day's fishing. Setting off at dawn the boats usually first move to bait waters before heading off for one of their preferred rich fishing grounds offshore.Your fish catches can include anything from wahoo, mackerel, silver fish or bulls eyes to the more famous sailfish or tuna. Whatever your style you can find it here in St Helena!

Golf:
St Helena is a walker's paradise, with many interesting walks ranging from gentle strolls along country and climbing up grassy paths to exhilarating hikes where one can appreciate the Island's dramatic contrasts and spectacular scenery. Longwood has probably the most remote 18-hole golf course in the world.
Though not long (4783 yards), it can be challenging. There is a thriving club, with weekend competitions and modest green fees. Visitors are always welcome.
